Ski festival with heart: Waste avoidance and climate protection
FIS Alpine SKI WM 2013 in Schladming
The World Championship is organized to the guidelines of "Zero Waste" based on the first step of the Styrian festival culture "G'SCHEIT FEIERN". The use of reusable und recyclable materials can help to avoid waste. The use of renewable energy sources keeps the "carbon footprint".
Measures and results:
- Only reusable cups and systems are used in the gastronomic facilities.
- Waste avoidance and separate waste collection for all levels of the event organisation.
- Use of compostable single-use dishes in public areas.
- Implementation of an easy-to-use collecting system separating residual and packaging waste (2-container-bag-system).
